Pharmacy is one of the most prestigious courses you can study in a tertiary institution. It is a big course in its own right, and not every school is given the approval to study it. Join me as I make a list of the Top 10 Universities allowed to teach Pharmacy in Nigeria.

1. University of Ibadan

U.I, as it is fondly called, was established in 1948. The University of Ibadan is a public higher education institution in the urban setting of the large city of Ibadan. This is the best place to be if you want to become a good pharmacist. The duration for studying pharmacy is 5 years.

2. University of Lagos

3. Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU)

Obafemi Awolowo University is a tertiary institution in the large town of Ile-Ife, Osun State. This is one of the best Universities in Nigeria to study Pharmacy. 4. University of Benin

This federal institution was founded in 1970. 8. University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN)

The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences started as a Department in the Faculty of Science in 1967. Due to the civil war, which lasted from 1967 to 1970, the Department did not function until 1970. It later became part of the Faculty of Biological Sciences. The pharmacy program from its inception was a 5-year program. This has enabled students to be well-grounded in both scientific and professional aspects of pharmacy.

9. Madonna University

The establishment of a Pharmacy program was in the original plan of the University. It came on stream in 2003 when the first batch of students where admitted. The program was for Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) degree in the Department of Pharmacy. Things changed in 2005 with the approval of the University Senate. OOU as it is fondly called was formerly called Ogun State University (OSU). It is operating in all its various campuses, with over 95% of its academic program accredited by NUC. Pharmacy also takes 5 years to study in OOU.
