Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC)

The NNPC is the agency that is in charge of managing the oil and gas products within and outside the country. In addition, they serve as a negotiator between the federal government and companies like ExxonMobil, Chevron, Agip, Schlumberger. NNPC is currently the highest paying agency in Nigeria. An intern working with NNPC goes home with 31,000 monthly while the sales manager earns three hundred thousand Naira only monthly. Also, an economist is reported to be making between three million five hundred and thirty thousand Naira, and three million eight hundred and twenty thousand Naira annually.

Bank of Industry (BOI)

Bank of Industry is the largest and oldest financial institution in the country. It is jointly owned by the Ministry of Finance Incorporated, the Central Bank of Nigeria, and private shareholders. It is reported that an analyst goes home with N2,880,000 on yearly basis. Also, a banking officer earns 5,400,000 yearly which is actually not bad when compared with other yearly income.

Established in 1958, the central bank of Nigeria is the tip of all monetary authority in Nigeria. The average monthly salary of some of its officials include:

Branch manager- N732,000

Trainee- N43,000

Loan officer- N573,000

Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA)

NIMASA is also another high paying agency with a very unique and special salary scale. Formally known as the National Maritime Authority, the agency is in charge of regulations related to shipping, maritime labor, and coastal waters. It is reported that their entry-level staff earns about #240,000 naira monthly. Just like all other lucrative jobs, getting in can be difficult without proper qualification and connection.

Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS)

The Federal Inland Revenue Service is another federal agency with an impressive pay package and salary structure. However, there is no other remuneration apart from the normal salary. According to sources, an entry-level staff is paid between a hundred and twenty thousand and a hundred and fifty thousand Naira monthly. Then, the pay goes up to between a hundred and sixty-seven and a hundred and eighty-four thousand Naira.
