Top 10 biggest Shopping Malls in Nigeria

In one of our recent posts about the best places to hang out in Nigeria, we said that the Palms Shopping Mall is the 9th biggest shopping mall in Nigeria. Am sure a lot of people will be wondering the first, second, third, etc. Now to do justice to that, we decided to come up with a list of the top 10 biggest Shopping Malls in Nigeria.

1. Tinapa Shopping Centre Calabar

Tinapa Shopping Centre Calabar is the biggest shopping mall in Nigeria and it covers a total landmass of 861,000 square feet. Located in Tinapa Free Zone, Calabar, Tinapa shopping center was opened on the 2nd of April 2007. Thanks to the leadership of former Governor Donald Duke, Calabar is now a center of attraction for people all around the world.

2. Capital Mall

The Capital Mall is in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The mall is one of the city’s most beautiful cultural and social resorts and it measures a total landmass of 40,000 square meters. Located in the mall are different types of exotic brands, boutiques. In addition, the mall has a cinema where you can the latest box office movies.

3. Jabi Lake Mall

Jabi Lake Mall is another big and beautiful mall in Abuja. It was officially opened in 2015 and it covers a total landmass of 25,000 square meters.

4. Ado Bayero Mall

Located in the Northern part of the country is the Ado Bayero Mall. It is a 24,136m² shopping mall in Kano state. In brief, the Mall was named after Alhaji Ado Bayero, a Monarch who reigned for a very long time in the city of Kano.

5. Polo Park Mall

Polo Park Mall was opened on the 15th of September, 2011 by the combined effort of Persianas Group and Enugu state Government. The mall is believed to be owned by Broll Properties Services Limited and it covers a landmass of 22,530 m². Also, it is the first world-class Mall in Enugu.

6. Ikeja City Mall

The Ikeja City Mall is located in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos state. There is a Cinema, a Shoprite store, Cafes, bars and other shops inside the Mall. With a total landmass of 22,000 m², Ikeja City Mall is one of the largest in the country. Also, this magnificent mall was also is also owned by Broll Property Services Limited, a leading real estate company in the country.

7. Lekki Mall, Lagos

Lekki Mall is one of the biggest malls in Lagos state and in the country. It covers a total landmass of 22,000 m² and it has over 90 shops inside it. Some of these shops include games center, Shoprite, Cinemas, 1000 parking bays etc.

8. Silverbird Entertainment Centre, Abuja

Silverbird Entertainment Centre located in Abuja sits on 22,000 m² land space. It is one of the major centers for shopping and relaxing in the Federal Capital Territory. Also, it has different retail spaces which are already let out.

9. Palms Shopping Mall, Lagos

The Palms shopping mall is currently the 9th largest shopping mall in Nigeria. It is on a 45,000 square meter in Lekki. It was once a swampy area before it was reclaimed by the combined effort of the Lagos state government and former president Olusegun Obasanjo.

10. Heritage Mall, Ibadan

Last but definitely not the least is the Heritage Mall which is located in Ibadan, Oyo state. It is described as the heartbeat of Ibadan and it is the most visited center in the state.
