2. Anglican Church Of Nigeria
The Anglican Church of Nigeria has a population of around 12 million. They were the first in the country according to historical records. They brought Christianity to Nigeria during the era of the British colonial masters. Fourteen of its ecclesiastical provinces in Nigeria are all governed by Archbishops headed by the primate. The church is highly independent and has cut all affiliations it has with the Church of England.
3. The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG)
Popularly known as RCCG, The church was founded by Rev. Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi in 1952. It is the third most populated church in Nigeria with a population close to 3 million. With the biggest auditorium in Nigeria, the church is currently headed by Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
4. Living Faith Church World Wide
The living faith church, also known as Winners Chapel is also one of the most populated Pentecostal churches in Nigeria. The general overseer is Bishop David Oyedepo. He is also the richest pastor in the country, Africa and in the world. The church has an estimated membership of 2.5 million people.
5. The Apostolic Church
The Apostolic Church has branches in different part of the country. It has its headquarters in Lagos with an auditorium that can seat thousands of people. It is one of the most populated and oldest in Nigeria.
6. Deeper Life Bible Church
Deeper life bible church was founded by Pastor Williams Folorunsho Kumiyi. The church that started with fifteen people is now one of the largest in the country.
7. Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry
Also known as MFM, it was founded by Dr. Daniel Olukoya. The church auditorium can take up to 550,000 people during a single service.
8. Believers Love World
It was founded by pastor Chris Oyakhilome in 1990, the church is of the most popular churches in Nigeria. Also known as Believers LoveWorld Incorporated, the headquarters is located in Lagos and it has over 40,000 members.
9. Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN)
The church was founded by Prophet TB Joshua who is also the current general overseer.
10. The Commonwealth Of Zion Assembly (COZA)
The church was founded by Reverend Biodun Fatoyinbo in 1999. There has a tremendous increase in the members of the church recently. It has four branches and the headquarters is in Abuja.
