Kingsley Moghalu was one of the Presidential candidates in the 2019 general election. A lot of people may not know him but he is one of the most educated and highly intellectual men we have in the country. Am sure his CV will almost fill up a 40 leaves note. Kingsley Moghalu has worked and stayed in different parts of the world just like his father. He has served Nigeria as well as the world through his services for the United Nation. Kingsley Chiedu Ayodele Bosah Moghalu was born on the 7th of May 1963 making him 55 years old. His father is late Mr. Isaac Moghalu and his mother is Vidah Moghalu. His father was a diplomat while his mother was a dietician and a teacher. Kingsley Chiedu Ayodele Bosah Moghalu was born in Lagos but he spent his early life in Europe and North America. His parent had to move to Switzerland a few months after his birth because his father was posted there. Kingsley eventually moved back to Nigeria at the age of three and he enrolled in a primary school. He obtained his University degree in Law from the University of Nigeria in 1986 and was later called into the bar in 1987. He later traveled to the United Kingdoms for his post-graduate programmes a few years after his NYSC. He obtained his Master’s Degree at Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law in 1992 and he was not going to stop there. Later on, he obtained his Ph.D. in International Relations in London School of Economics and Political Science.
Kingsley was appointed into the UN Secretariat after obtaining his Ph.D. He was posted to Cambodia to serve human rights and election officer. Afterward, he served as head of global partnerships and resource mobilization at The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (GFATM), at the World Bank in Geneva, Switzerland. After 17 successful years in the United Nation, he retired and moved back to Nigeria. Furthermore, he was once the deputy governor at the Central Bank Nigeria.
Kingsley Moghalu is also a businessman and a successful at that. He founded Sogato Strategies SA a risk management and strategy consulting firm, in Geneva, Switzerland. His business later acquired a high profile partnership with Swiss Bank UBS and Swiss agrochemicals multination Syngenta.
Kingsley Moghalu is happily married to Onyinye Maryanne Moghalu. The couple got married about 25 years ago and their marriage is blessed with four kids.
