To continue from where we stopped in our last post, we are going to be taking you through the life of another Nigerian highly influential pastor. Bishop David Oyedepo is not just a Pastor, he is also a minister and an architect. He is the founder of one of the biggest churches in Nigeria, Living Faith Church.
Bishop David Oyedepo is the founder of Winners Chapel international, popularly known as Living Faith Church. He was born on the 27th of September 1954 in Oshogbo, Osun state but hails from Omu Aran, Kwara state. He spent most of his time with his grandmother while he was young. He has a degree in Architecture which he obtained from Kwara State Polytechnic. Then, he worked in the Federal Housing Authority in Ilorin. Also, he has a Ph.D. in human development which he obtained from Honolulu University, Hawaii, United States of America.

Bishop David Oyedepo`s Ministerial journey began during his days in high school. He also became a born again Christian in 1969 in high school. According to him, he had a vision that lasted over 17 hours in 1981. In the vision, he said he received delegation to liberate the world of all evil oppression by preaching to the people. As a result, he founded Liberation Faith Hour Ministry. He got married to Florence Abiola Akano in 1982 and they both took charge of the activities of the church. They both became ordained pastors by Pastor Enoch Adebayo, the general overseer of RCCG in 1988.
Winners Chapel actually began in Kaduna before it was later relocated to Lagos state in 1989. At first, it never had many members as it has today. Then, they started growing in number and it became a necessity for him to build a larger auditorium. The auditorium is a fifty thousand seat capacity space located in Ota, Ogun state. It is known as the Faith Tabernacle and it is one of the largest in the world. Also, it was completed within a year and was commissioned by former president Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999. A church that started with just one location now has up to three hundred locations in Nigeria alone. In addition, it has over sixty sites in forty African countries, with a minor presence in Dubai, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Bishop Oyedepo founded Covenant University in 2002 and he became the Vice Chancellor as well as the Chairman. Covenant University is one of the best private universities in Nigeria. It was ranked as the best university in Nigeria in 2015 by Webometrics. Also, it is a member of commonwealth universities. Furthermore, the school also has a secondary school called Kingdom Academy secondary school located in Canaan land. Bishop Oyedepo also founded Landmark University in Kwara state in 2014. Also, he is currently building Crown University in Calabar, Cross River State.
Bishop Oyedepo owns two private jets, although some claim it is four. He also has houses scattered all over the world. Having a net worth of $180 million, Bishop David Oyedepo is currently the richest Pastor in Nigeria.
